Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Prepare the meatloaf mixture:
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, shredded mozzarella cheese, eggs, and milk. Add the finely chopped onion, minced garlic, fresh parsley, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and black pepper. Mix everything together until well combined, but be careful not to overwork the meat.
Shape the meatloaf:
Transfer the meat mixture to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a greased loaf pan. Shape the mixture into a loaf, ensuring it's even and compact.
Bake the meatloaf:
Place the meatloaf in the preheated oven and bake for about 45-55 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
Top with marinara sauce:
In the last 10 minutes of baking, spread the marinara sauce evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
Finish baking:
Continue baking for the remaining 10 minutes to let the sauce warm up and set.
Rest and slice:
Once done, remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing. This helps retain its juices.
Serve:
Slice the meatloaf and serve it with your favorite side dishes, such as mashed potatoes, garlic bread, or a fresh salad.
